"APP-PAY-06012: This record has been entered already"

[Added 6/7/12]

If not required for the employee group, delete the contents of the Conditions of Appointment field. If required, please contact HR_IS@mail.colostate.edu.

 

"FRM- 40735: WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-06502" - or -

Blank Navigator Screen

Click the top-hat icon on the toolbar and, if applicable, choose the appropriate department from the list that opens.

 

Can't Sign Into CAP

[Added 9/3/13]

If you get the following error when trying to access the HR system, please sign out of CAP.

  1. Close the browser window.
  2. Access CAP: http://cap.colostate.edu
  3. Click Logout:
    cap-logout
  4. Sign into CAP.

 

Can't Sign Into the Secure Portal

[Added 9/3/13]

  1. Confirm that your eID works by signing into the eID website.
  2. If successful, ensure that the address you're using for the Secure portal is https://secure.colostate.edu and that your browser doesn't try to insert additional characters at the end of the URL.
  3. If your eID does not work, please contact the HR Service Center (491-6947) for help.

 

"CSU [department] is not a valid responsibility"

Email the message text and your eName to HR_IS@mail.colostate.edu.

 

"FRM-92050: Failed to connect to the Server"

Disable Cross-Site Scripting

[Verified 6/23/12]

  1. In IE, choose Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level...
  2. Near the bottom of the list, set "Enable XSS filter" to "Disable"

Additional Suggestions

  • Choose Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level > Medium-Low
  • Choose Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites. Add *.is.colostate.edu
  • Choose Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings. Add *.is.colostate.edu

 

"FRM-92101: There was a failure in the Forms Server during startup."

Rebooting the computer has fixed this error the few times it has been reported.

 

"FRM-92120: Registry file [...] is missing."

Check Proxy Setting

[Added 12/6/11]

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings
  2. Uncheck "Use a proxy server or your LAN"

A change in this setting may indicate the PC was infected with malware so a virus scan is recommended.

 

Java - 1.7.0_25

  1. Uninstall Java 7_25
  2. Right-click and Save Target As... the appropriate file below:
  3. Install Java
  4. Ensure the following two Java settings are correct in Start > Control Panel > Java
    1. Security tab: Medium
    2. Update tab:
      1. Notify Me Before downloading
      2. Uncheck "Check for Updates Automatically

Java - Multiple Versions Needed

It is usually possible to have multiple Java versions installed on one machine by following these instructions.

  1. Install the latest version of Java.
  2. Install the earlier version of Java that's needed.
  3. Install JInitiator plug-in.

 

Main Menu Shows "undefined"

[Added 5/13/13]

If Oracle displays "undefined" instead of your normal responsibilities on the Oracle homepage under Main Menu, please enable compatibility view.

Oracle HR Does Not Start

Delete Browser Temporary and History Files

[Verified 8/21/12]

  1. Click Tools > Internet Options.
  2. On the General tab under Browsing History, click Delete...
  3. Check the boxes beside Temporary Internet Files and History.
  4. Click Delete.

Delete Java temporary files.

  1. Open Java Control Panel
  2. Under General > Temporary Internet Files, click Settings... > Delete Files... > OK

Install Java with User as Local Admin

[Updated 8/23/13]

  1. Log into the computer as an admin to:
    1. Uninstall all versions of Java.
    2. Add the user to the local admin group.
    3. Reboot the computer.
  2. Log in as the regular user, install Java 7_25.
  3. Sign into CAP, choose Human Resources, and start Oracle HR.
  4. Remove the regular user from the admin group and reboot the computer.

Check Browser

[Verified 9/18/12]

Ensure user is running the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer. Oracle HR is not compatible with the 64-bit version.

 

Rejection Emails Delivered to Junk Folder

Manage Junk Email Settings

Please view the instructions provided here: http://help.mail.colostate.edu/tt_manage_junk_email_settings.aspx.

Because CSU email is scanned by SpamCanner, the additional filtering provided by Outlook may be unnecessary. The above link provides instructions for disabling Outlook's junk filtering entirely.

 

Reports - Unable to View Output

If you have Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Professional installed, please make the following changes in both applications.

Check Acrobat Setting

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat
  2. Choose Edit > Preferences > Internet
  3. UNcheck "Display PDF in browser"
  4. Restart Acrobat

Update Acrobat

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat
  2. Choose Help > Check for Updates
  3. Follow prompts

Check Internet Explorer Setting

  1. Open IE
  2. Choose Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
  3. In Settings, UNcheck "Do not save encrypted pages to disk"
  4. Restart IE

 

Reports - Unable to View Report List

[Added 6/7/12]

If, after submitting a report to run, you are unable to view a list of reports (the View Requests screen), the user's account must be signed into locally - please contact HR_IS@mail.colostate.edu.

 

"There are no active responsibilities available for this user"

On the screen where this message displays:

  1. Click Personalize
  2. Click Go
  3. Check for a value of "Hidden" in the Status field.
  4. Click Show All > Apply

"Your eBusiness Suite account has expired"

Please email message text and the user's eName to HR Service Center so your self-service account can be reactivated.

 

Your Java version is out of date

  1. Uninstall Java 7_25

Obsolete Issues

Buttons Too Small

In Windows 8, the buttons in CSU Approvals may be too small to view the labe. [IE 10 now supported. Consider upgrading.]

  1. In Internet Explorer, if the dropdown menus aren't visible in the toolbar area, press and release the Alt button.
  2. Choose Tools > Compatibility View.

 

"Cannot find server. The page cannot be displayed."

  • Upgrade or revert to Internet Explorer version 7. [IE 10 is now supported.]

"FNDGFM.jsp error: The current session is invalid."

  • Ensure the user is running a supported version of Java, JRE 1.6.0_45 (6u45) or earlier which is available from the Java Archive.
  • If a later version of Java is installed, uninstall it. Simply disabling an unsupported version of Java may not be sufficient. Or, try installing multiple versions of Java. [Java 7_25 is now supported.]

Oracle HR Does Not Start

Revert to Internet Explorer version 8. [IE 10 is now supported].

Use or revert to Internet Explorer version 8.

  1. Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  2. Click View installed updates in the left pane.
  3. Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.
  4. Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9. Click Uninstall > Yes.
